Chat display order not the same in IE8

I had a user report that new chat messages were not in the order I have set, oldest -> newest on the bottom. It works fine for me however.

So I did some testing and the problem is specifically with IE8. You can test it on my forums (as you use the newest -> oldest here) at www.darkhandofvalor.com

Yeah, IE (any version) won't snap the progress bar to the bottom like FF and the others do.
IE simply does not implement the HTML Element attributes needed to do this, I'm afraid.

I'm not sure that's the issue here. If you look at it in IE8, it's not the snap aspect, it's that the new messages are at the top, but in FF they are at the bottom (what I have set).

Oh yeah, sorry I misread what you said.
Yeah that's also intended, it's because since IE doesn't incorporate the "snapping", it would be counter-productive to make users scroll down any time a shout is posted, so I force the setting to be newest first in IE.

If you don't want this, then you can edit dbtech_vbshout_shoutbox and tinker with the "if (HTMLElement)" check there (it's 1.30 atm so I'm kinda fuzzy on the specifics ) - that'll be what you want
