Question Classifieds Options in Pro?

I entere4d the following over on vbulletin.org in your Dragonbyte classifieds thread. Maybe here is the better place?

Same questions as rcull and navossoc, except none of ours will be digital, plus;

1. Is there a way to turn off the Buy It Now feature? That is really not an option when you're selling cars and boats.

2. It shows on the full feature list that it is possible to limit the number of listings per usergroup permissions. Is that only on the Pro version?

3. Can the postage feature be turned off? Once again, not applicable to cars and boats. Maybe in Pro?

4. Is there any way to limit the number of photos allowed? Or is that identical to the general forum settings attachments allowed?

We have currently installed Lite and are testing. Please let us know. We are running 4.2.3

You can turn it off when in debug mode or when accessing the Admin page directly, something like:
/admincp/dbtclassifieds.php?do=listingtypes

In version 2 they'll be more easily accessible to change.

IIRC, nope, it should be in the usergroup permissions.

In Pro it can be hidden using the Manage Forms page in the AdminCP and a default 'catch all' postage is used so the system can handle it correctly.

We have currently installed Lite and are testing. Please let us know. We are running 4.2.3

Photos are controlled by the general forum attachment settings at the moment.

Thanks, I'll get our forum admin to peek at that.

It appears to only control the number of featured listings. Not the total number of allowed listings. Unless I'm looking in all the wrong places?

I'll get pro then I believe. (For sure if I can figure out number 1)

I hope you're working on that. The biggest problem is that the forum attachment manager also controls the CMS. So, in an article you may need a dozen photos to tell the story. In the classifieds, 3 or 4 is plenty.

There doesn't seem to be enough extra options in Pro anyway, so you should sell more...

So far, the only other thing I see that would be an additional bonus; When you first go to the forum, most click on either New Posts, What's New, or Quick Links/Today's Posts. None of those has the option to have the Featured Classifieds Bar or the Classifieds Bar. It would be the most viewed screen on most Forums, and is the ideal place for one or the other of those Classifieds Bars.

Is that something you are working on?

I like that suggestion. I think you should post that in a separate suggestion thread.

I'll keep you posted about the limiter, I really am not sure why that's not accessible.

A work around that might work is if you don't intend to use the featured listing part of the mod, you could make all listings featured by default, remove the cost associated with it and then limit each usergroup to that.

Our hope is, the different classification of members, who pay annual memberships, can have different advantages included in their basic membership. So, making this up right now, you are a silver member, you get 2 classifieds and no featured ads included. Gold 1 featured and 5 regular ads. Platinum, 3 featured and 10 regular ads. Or something along those lines.

Featured ads scroll along the tops of the forum pages, regular ads scroll along the bottoms of the forum pages.

I've found the issue. It was a double issue. The missing option in the usergroup manager and a missing check when submitting the listings. Fixed in the next update, 1.1.13 which we'll release next week.
