AddOn Disable Shoutbox on high load

I'm not sure if this has been suggested or not, but from my search I didn't see anything.

You know how vBulletin has the feature to disable the forums to everyone but staff when the server load is above a set value?

Would it be possible to add something like this to vBShout?

For example.. the Shoutbox could load except not display any shouts, but show a message saying that the server is too busy and to try again later, or something like that.

Was just an idea.

It may be hard to do, and will only function on *nix OSes. It's definitely something to consider though
