Question Disabled....but all I want is.......

I bought this a while back....and currently I have it disabled on my forum. Frankly....call me stupid if you like...I'm OK WITH THAT.....but I found it so confusing. I WANT it to work so bad.....so very bad.

Let me tell you about my site....and why I got it...and what I HOPED it would/will do.....and maybe...JUST MAYBE you can help me.....if there is a fee to make this work....I'm interested in paying that fee.

HERE WE GO:

My site ranges from 1000 to 2000 paid members...depending on the time of the year....and other things. All of the paid members are professional photographers. Thus...the site is used primarily as a place where Pro Photographers can "PRIVATELY" ask questions to other Pro Photographers. They can post idea, suggestions, marketing tips and other things that they have done that is successful.

Lesser experienced photographers can read this info and become better.

For that reason...you have unspoken, unofficial, LEVELS of people that exist. You have the new photographer who is scared to post....afraid that he/she will be ridiculed.....you have the experienced photographer who is scared to post because he/she is afraid someone will steal his idea. You have the cocky new guy who thinks he knows it all and post CRAP like crazy....and then leaves because he get's his feelings hurt that nobody like his stuff....you have the old experienced guy who posts and then get's mad that he is not appreciated by his peers....and feels he is always posting and everyone is alway taking.

And so on and so on.

MY HOPE was that vBActivity & Awards would allow me some way of "REWARDING" those who post and who are active.

The best "REWARD" that you can give to a photographer on my site is a PRICE BREAK......

The fee to join is $249 for a whole year. We always have a $200 special to join in July.

But lately...the over all opinion is that the members want something that they can do that will show that they are deserving of a price break.

I have offered discounts to those who have more than 500 posts.....but then those who have less than 500 are mad because they say ANYONE CAN JUST POST "Good Photo" or "Nice Shot" on everything and end up with 500 posts.

So....I want something...where other members can give REWARDS or ATTA BOY'S or NICE POST or WELL WRITTEN....something like that.....a button or something that when you read a post and you think....NOW THAT'S AWESOME!!!!! You can click something....and that something then shows up in the Postbit........next to the avatar......something I can SEARCH FOR and thus send bulk emails to those who have say 10 of these a month and give them $5 off the price of membership for each "AWESOME" they get.

That is the whole reason for me getting vBActivity and Awards....I was hoping it would do JUST THAT....nothing else.....I don't need all the bells and whistles....just a way of it tracking who is worthy of a discount......I"m even willing to get to the point where if you have enough of these "AWESOME" post awards you get in for free....and if you keep it up....I'll pay you. That is my hope...that is my dream for vBActivity and Awards.

NOW....how do I get it to do that?

OR...would you rather I pay you...and you set it up for me????

SERIOUSLY......I really, really appreciate you and everyone at Dragon Byte Tech.....you and your stuff is making me and my site look like geniuses!!! KEEP Coming up with cool stuff and I will keep buying!!!!

I believe the mod you need is Advanced Post Thanks / Like - which I see you've already bought

It has a Search interface in the AdminCP that lets you see all button clicks

Just went play with that SEACH...and it does show me the most current LIKES and THANKS and such....I can have it also show me UNLIKE (what we call RUDE BUTTON).....but it only shows me the NAME of the thread or post that a person has set to RUDE.....I can't even click that post or thread to go read it and confirm that it really is RUDE and should be left as a RUDE POST or deleted????? Can that be fixed????

Also....IMAGINE 2000 people all roving about a forum....they find a great thread or post...and then they click the "AWESOME POST" button.

GREAT...now that person has 1 AWESOME....

Another reads it....WOW...that is AWESOME....they click it.....infact....100 people all click the same post as "AWESOME"......at 100 (as an example) I want to offer that person either CASH via a Paypal payoff....or a discount when they sign back up........

How do I track those who have gotten to the 100 AWESOME POST level.....then 200......then 500...then 1000 I want to give them FREE MEMBERSHIP.....if you get to 2000 I want to pay you $250 to be on my forum.....

GET IT????

Making the BUTTON AVAILABLE is EASY.....how do I get told that a person is at that level???? OR....how do they even know they are at that level themselves?????

Suggestions????

Remember...I'm willing to PAY for you to set this up???? Will Activity and Awards do it.......I know it works with the THANKS MOD?????

If you post that as a Feature Request in the Advanced Post Thanks / Like support forums we'll take it into consideration for future versions

You can do that by setting up a new Achievement in vBActivity for Thanks Received, then use the Achievement Statistics page to see who has earned this achievement.
