Hello,

Just purchased the DB Downloads program, however we are unsure of how to properly configure it. Currently no menu button appears on our main menu nav bar. Also, what specific folder do we need to put under path to downloads? Can we get the format for it please.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to getting this up and running!

You need to set up the categories, with the permissions ACP/Downloads/Manage Categories

You also need to set up the modules with permissions, ACP/Downloads/Manage Modules

For path to downloads follow this:
Put the folder where ever you like, then follow the info below.

You can find out the location you need to use for your downloads folder using this file: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/vbdow...load&fileid=38

That will give you something like /home/user/public_html/ if you upload and run it from your public_html folder. Simply alter that to your downloads folder (must already be created) as such: /home/user/downloads/

Hello Ozzy!

Thank you for the help! The path seems to be working as my thumbnails load into the proper folder, however when I actually go to upload the files themselves (under 5mgs) I get this message once the upload says complete. The files never make it to the server. So currently we are unable to upload/download files other then the pictures and thumbnails through the 'add thumbnails/screenshot' menu.

If you look in the ACP at Downloads->Manage System, what does it show for Max Upload Size?

max upload size = 10M

yeah we are just picking our brains on this one as we cannot seem to get it working, the root is correct and the module is activated there is no reason it shouldn't be working :\

If you want to give me temp admin and ftp access I can troubleshoot it further. From the information you've given me, it should be running right.

pm sent :)

Looks like you fixed it Dylan, the flash up-loader bar wasn't that big of a deal for users to see anyway. Though, how do we change the upload size limit? I don't see an option for that.

Thanks for all your help!

The max upload size in the, Downloads->Manage System is set from the server.

Memory limit is PHP Memory limit
Max Upload Size is PHP Maximum Upload Size

If you are not sure how to change those, contact your host to increase the sizes

And if you want to increase the allowed size of the files in vB it's
ACP->Downloads->Manage Extensions

Each file extension type has a set size limit you can increase/decrease.

If you set them higher then the sizes Ozzy mentioned then the download system will break, make sure the system settings are always higher then what's allowed.
