Question Language change

I am looking to change the language for the vBActivity leaderboards.

Thats not possible due to it being hardcoded in the flash file, sorry

1)Branding Free in VB
2)dtech Pro plus branding free.

To me it makes no sense to have the vB portion in vBActivity.
Think of it like my users/members wondering what does vB stand for...

In the mean time...how can I change it?

It's not a bug, because it's not possible when taking into accounts the limitations of Flash. Plus, the file is compiled and the source code is not readily available to me (it was created by Deceptor), so it's not like I can easily give you a new file either

Okay can Deceptor fix this please. This is something new in 3.0.0 beta. If it's not a bug what is it? Let's make things better.

I (personally) think we generally define Branding as the copyright footer (unless none is present, in which case we usually put "DragonByte Tech" somewhere else in the mod), though Cosmic may be able to give a more clarified answer on the official DBTech definition

I going to leave it for now...but know it's bad branding practice...why would I want vB or anything else in front of every product.

I think fillip was asking what you done to change the text in 2.1.9 since you say it wasn't hardcoded then.

AFAIK he hasn't made any changes to how that works from 2.1.9 to 3.0 so if it was editable somehow then, that same method would work now =)

It's not something that would usually be considered branding (in fact you're the first person to ever bring it up) - Branding Free means removing references to DragonByte Tech from footers and such - we get no benefit from having vB before words, that's simply a naming convention. It's certainly not something we advertise will happen as part of the branding free purchase and it's not something that is commonly held to be branding.

That being said we'll strive to have text/phrases containing "vb" editable in future. We will also try to clarify what exactly is removed by the branding free license (for the record it's all copyright info). As always if you have any questions about any licenses etc before you purchase we're happy to answer them in pre-sales before purchase.

In this particular instance due to the nature of the particular text (part of a flash file which we no longer have access to the source for) it's unlikely the vbactivity phrase will be editable/removable (since there is no way for us to do that other than completely remove the feature).

It could have very well been dbtechactivity which it isn't but vb.
I have seen mods/coders do this before to place there brand in the eye of the user for what ever reason.

Thank you for striving to raise the standard with text/phrases editable in future. Maybe work on getting the coder to change it...if you can find him. Miss In Action.
