Question Prioritizing system emails

I've noticed that when a mass email is being sent out (a process which takes 48-36 hours on my forum), I get a lot of emails from people waiting for registration activation emails, subscription notifications, etc.

Is there a way to prioritize those emails in the queue above the vBmail blast? It's kinda tough having people unable to register on the forums for 3 days every week!

Unfortunately that's not currently possible, sorry. What's your emails per batch set to in the Email Options (this is not related to vBMail at all, I mean the stock vB Options).

It was reduced a while back to avoid timeouts. You gave me some useful advice on suitable values a year or so ago.

This definitely makes sending emails something only to do in emergencies, as it pretty much suspends registration while they're sending to a user base of around 160K.

Have you tried turning off the email cron system in vBulletin Options under Email Options? That way, all email should be sent instantly, bypassing this problem.

This is only recommended if you do not have a "emails per hour" limit configured for your hosting account on your server.
