I received a message from one of my users stating he could not see any shouts in the shout box. I checked it and everything was fine for me. I message him back stating it was fine. I then go back to check again and I am now having the same problem.
The archive is loading fine and showing any newly typed messages.

This is happening on both of my sites. Very strange.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Yeah that's what I just discovered there too - it was a .js file change that also required a product XML re-import.

Hi Fillip H.,
I have had to re-install the xml again on both sites as the shouts were not appearing again. Will this keep happening?

Also, I have this blank menu in my admincp. admincp.webp I am assuming it is from the Pro mix up.
How do I get rid of that?

Thanks

Try renaming every file that starts with cpnav_ to -cpnav_ (add the - in front) except for cpnav_vbulletin.xml

Then rename them back one-by-one until you find the culprit.

Could be a cache somewhere.

Check the template dbtech_vbshout_shoutbox, if the following line is there:
Code:
<script type="text/x-jquery-tmpl" name="dbtech_vbshout_shouttype_me" data-instanceid="{vb:var instance.instanceid}">
and NOT
Code:
<script type="text/x-jquery-tmpl" id="dbtech_vbshout_shouttype_me">

Then re-importing the XML will do nothing to change the output, and the issue is not in vBShout.

Have you recently enabled the Page Speed Optimization option given by your hosts.

In my case it was Dreamhost. I once had this problem. Shouts would not load but the Shoutbox would be there. This was happening whenever I enabled Page Speed Opt option. Did not know why this happened as it messed up the Forum Side blocks too along with the shoutbox. I just disabled the PSO option and went in for VbOptimise. Everything works fine now.

Seems to be working fine now. Flushed the cache and made each member who was having problems do the same on their browser and now all is good.
Thanks for the tip riskreward.
Thanks for the help Fillip H..
