Bug Slow Render of thumbnails on my site...

Not sure why but the thumbs are super slow to render on my gallery home page....

I am sure the techniques are similar between the two for rendering... Just might be something needs to be modified or added to get the same speeds...

Go to your admin CP and search for "Image Thumbnail Type" in gallery settings -> swich to "Physical Image" and you're done

Yeah, the way I started rendering it was through php so that the paths would be 100% hidden, photopost just shows the image. Rendering it takes some time and if you don't have a beefy server it can be slow. So if you aren't concerned with hidding the images, change the setting Solein suggested. I'll continue to try and optomize the rendering through php but there's only so much I can do heh.

The "Physical Image" setting works great everywhere but the "Main Page" when displaying categories. I'm still seeing a very slow image render on this page. It may be do to the category background images. The speed everywhere else is great now, but unfortunately right now the first page users come to is still the slowest. Not sure what can be done. I'm personally not a big fan of the category background image - maybe an admin option to shut off the current background image and possibly allow admins an option to supply a separate image for each category.

Can you add this as a feature request? The reason the categories images are slow to load is because it is reading the background image into php then imposing the latest gallery image on top of it and then displaying that.
