Hey Guys,

Just wondering is the install time for this hack based on how large the post table is?

We have over 1.7M posts and importing the xml seems to be taking a while....

Thanks in Advance

I am not 100% certain, but I do believe the bigger the post table, the longer it will take.

okay, thanks. I'll just let it sit there then and pray it doesn't time out :) Approximately how long do you think? It's going on about 5 or 10 minutes now I believe.....

not a problem, thanks for the quick answer either way :) If only my other paid mods gave support this quick..... <sigh>

I'm still not sure why I decided to upgrade from 3.8.7 to 4.1.5. lol

That would be never :)

Unless the browser has stalled and doesn't have a spinning loading circle / "waiting for domainname.com" in the status bar anymore, it's still running :)

Glad to hear that, as it still has both of those. :D It's just that I'm trying to get everything ready for our grand reopening tomorrow and I'm kinda in the dead zone waiting for this to complete....

My problem now is that everything else on the server seems to have come to a halt, can't access any other sites...... :( But the circle is still spinning and it's still waiting for domainname.com....

That's because your MySQL server is using up all your CPU cycles trying to modify the database table.

Please simply wait until the process is done.

Okay, here's the problem. I was just told by my host that the db partition ran our of space. :( How much data does this add to the db? I was told that the db doubled in size. What I wound up seeing on my screen can be seen in the attachment. I'm not sure if the installation finished or not. How do you suggest that I proceed?

Only thing I can think of maybe when it re writes the tables, it makes a copy of the original tables, and writes those, then overwrites the original ones.

I may be way off here, but Fillip H. will have the answer for sure.

I don't know how MySQL alters its database tables, but I do know that it adds x amount of bytes per row to store the contents of the new column.
