Hey all,
After an extended Beta period, we're comfortable enough in the stability of our next version of vB Optimise that we're ready to release it as v2.4.0.
Our Lite users can look forward to seeing a popular feature backported from Pro, while our Pro customers get a new feature: CDN integration. vB Optimise now integrates with popular CDN systems: Amazon S3, Origin Pull or Mirror, Rackspace Cloud, Remote Server (custom CDN) and Windows Azure.
You can assign one or more of your styles to have their images / CSS uploaded to the CDN, and it will transform any compatible image / CSS reference (i.e. those that include your forum's full URL and not just local references) into a CDN reference automatically.
Content Delivery Networks are excellent for speeding up page loads or taking some of the workload off your server by reducing the number of HTTP requests needed.
Below is the changelog for this version:
vB Optimise v2.4.0
Feature (Lite) Backported from Pro, the Resource Statistics lets you collect and display stats for how many SQL queries vB Optimise has saved you
Feature (Pro) Content Delivery Networks integration. vB Optimise now integrates with popular CDN systems: Amazon S3, Origin Pull or Mirror, Rackspace Cloud, Remote Server (custom CDN) and Windows Azure.
I should point out that for those of you who are/were in the Beta program, it's entirely safe to install this version over the Beta version, even with the version number difference.
Please observe the upgrade notes document included in the download, regardless of your previous version.
Thanks for your continued support
