In the image here: uG3.webp
you have under 'Currently Active Users' these 2 texts:

Staff Member:
Member:

I note that the appropriate members id's, from the appropriate user groups, appear next to either Staff Member or Member, in the colour of that usergroup.

Now, are these 2 texts a part of one of your mods or are these a part of VB?

Thanks.

Yep, that would be the one.

What's Going On:
  • Separating staff and normal members
    • Ability to turn this off
  • Staff Legend
    • Ability to turn this off

I already have this mod and I just re-enabled the 2 options you state, i.e. 'Staff Legend' & 'Separate Staff'.

But, 'Member:' is stil not appearing - all members are appearing next to 'Staff member' only.

What should be done?

Thanks.

Following my last message above, please see this pic: site.webp

The member 'lameduck' is a normal member who has chopsen to be a part of the usergroup 'members'. 'Lameduck' is not a part of the usergroup 'Administrators'. Yet, as you can see, 'lameduck' is appearing next to 'Staff Member: Lameduck'.

'Lameduck' should appear next to 'Member' as normal members appear on this website.

Now, both 'Staff Legend' & 'Separate Staff' are enabled but 'Member is stil not appearing.

So, please guide me what I exactly need to do to get 'Member' to appear as it does on your website? Could this be a server error or something at my end? Or, is it some setting I need to do in site admin?

Regards.

Any coloured usergroup is considered a staff group for the purpose of that mod.

oh no, you mean that i cant make different member groups in different colours like i showed you? I assume that coloured usergroups are only for different staff categories? So, only various staff member categories can show colours?

and, there must not be any colour codes in '<span style="color: #0000FF ;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none">' etc to bring 'Member' out? What shall I put in instead of colour code to bring out 'Member' like on your website?

That's correct :)

What shall I put in instead of colour code to bring out 'Member' like on your website?
Our "Members" colour is defined by the link colour - as you can see, all links are the same shade of green as the members in our Who's Online block :)

I'm somewhat confused about this. Please see this photo: UG1.webp
In the photo you will see that al the usergroups, both admin and others, are appearing in one big group. This includes the 2 admin groups which are 'administrators' and 'super moderators'.

Now, the question is what do I need to do to make the 2 admin groups, or any default admin groups, appear separately to all other groups as is the case on your website? I mean on this website you have 'Staff Member' appearing in 1 line and then you have 'Member' appearing in a separate line lower down? How do I show usergroups like this on my website?
Thanks.

Please respond to my above post, so, like on this website, i can learn and make my usergroups into 2 separate areas, i.e. 1 group for all admin/moderators and the other group for all other members.

Please advise of the settting(s) used within site admin.

Thank you.

Any usergroups that have html markup with colors like so:

Code:
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-weight: bold;">

Will show up as Staff Member

Any other usergroups that are not staff do not have a color in html markup, like so:

Code:
<span style="font-weight: bold;">

Those usergroups show up as Member

Right, the Staff line is usergroups that have the color in the html markup, the member line is the groups that don't.

Set all your staff usergroups to "viewable on Forum Leaders page" and configure some "Username HTML Markup" for them.

Set all your member usergroups to not be "viewable on Forum Leaders page" and remove any "Username HTML Markup" for them.

Then enable the Separate Staff option in InfoPanels :)
