When trying to import from vbGallery it only imports one user account, the admin. I only have a few people who have uploaded images already but after trying multiple attempts each time it would only import the one account along with all the categories.

Sorry I missed this, was on vacation this last week. I'll check the importer and get back to you.

I couldn't replicate this locally.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new AdminCP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues. It should ideally be a temporary account created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it

Hey I am having the same issue the importer only imported about 25 of 229 files of the first category of vbgallery (Photopost)transferred and the other categories didn't import anything and they are not even visible unless I go to create a new category...

Sorry about that, I think I found the problem and have it worked out. I'm going to test it today and probably put out a bugfix tonight.

Also too I noticed looking in my database both VBGallery and VbDownload both force Collation to utf8_general_ci and my database is set to use latin1_swedish_ci I thought whenever someone makes something for a board they are supposed to have the boards database decide the Collation? As I have noticed in the passed it caused issues with my website to have something that isn't using the same Collation... I also notice some parts of VbArcade has the same issue.

There are 3 fields I force to be utf8, this is required so I can do full text search on them for relative results.

I just uploaded 1.1.3 which should take care of this issue. Let me know if the importer works for you now :)

It appears to now be importing all photos and categories for me.

Issues I now see:
1) It does not appear to be placing photos in their correct category. Clicking on category does not show images from that category, appears to just show "Latest Images"
2) Image blocks seem to have extremely small thumbnails (assumed they should be the same as main page). Blocks are almost like a thumbnail of a thumbnail.
3) AdminCP - Gallery System still reports 1.1.2
4) AdminCP - Custom Fields - shows error "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/dbtech/gallery/actions/admin/cust_fields.php on line 93"

The loading of categories page and any any page with image thumbnails is extremely slow compared to what I'm using currently for a gallery. It is definitely loading one image at a time and currently slow enough to watch each one come up individually.

edit: PM Sent with Admin access info.

Can you turn it on so admins can see it? For some reason when I enable it and make it visible only to admins it's not showing up and when I try to browse to the main page it's not showing as existing on the server.

Where is it saying it's version 1.1.2? I looked in the ACP and the product says it's 1.1.3

I'm not seeing the custom fields error either.

It is reporting 1.1.2 in the AdminCP under DBTech - Gallery "Gallery System".

I am no longer seeing the custom fields error either.

I think I found the problem.

Can you upload this file to dbtech/gallery/includes and overwrite the existing then try and import again.

It should work right after.

After applying that file, it does appear to be importing now into the correct categories.

Observations/Questions:
1) Are the thumbnails in the blocks suppose to be that small (50% of original thumbnail)? The are currently displaying as 75x53 for a 150x113 thumbnail.
2) There is no text attached to block thumbnails.
3) Category image thumbs superimposed on dbtgallery.php background also appear like they could be much larger and still fit.
4) Appears to be a permission issue. When logged in as admin all images appear. If I also have it selected that "Unregistered / Not logged in" can view gallery, and view page when not logged in - not all thumbnail images appear.
5) All images still seem to load individually - one after the other. Page load times are much higher than experienced with similar data sized pages. Another gallery mod loading the same size data with nearly identical number of images and actually more requests is loading in less than 1/3 the time.

1 and 2 are supposed to be like that. I wanted to make a small block of images so you could have different blocks but not have a page that is 10 times as long as it should be because of all the full size thumbs on the column. Same with the text, was just supposed to be a small block of images.

The category image depends on the dimensions of the original image. Unless I disregard the ratio of the dimensions some images are going to look like they could go larger on there. Portrait images are always going to look smaller on the category list then landscape images. I could switch the category background but then some other image dimension wouldn't look right. It's kind of a catch 22 heh

Can you tell me one of the images that can only be viewed by a logged in user?

I'll take a look at the thumb load. A lot of the other scripts load fast because they just open the image itself. I wanted to hide the images so they could only be accessed through the script which means loading them through the script. That takes a bit more loading time.

I definitely understand what your saying. I just think having thumbs that small almost makes them pointless though. I small unrecognizable image with no text is not much of an enhancement. You already have the options in place on whether to show the blocks or not, and how many images to show. If the user chooses to have 50 decent size thumbs down the side of their page it would be their choice. I think if you could add the option to show thumbs full size with description with be better visually in my opinion.

Have you looked at offering different category backgrounds or adding an option to hide it all together (I don't think I saw that.)

I have it set up on my website now. If you view the gallery without logging in you will see many thumbs are not showing (maybe 20%), some on the categories, some in the blocks). Then when you login they all appear correctly.

Not sure how much of a pain it would be but if the speed change is that dramatic I know I and many others would rather have the speed over hiding the images. If this could be added as an option I think it would be beneficial.

It's not set to be viewable to unregistered users. If you could point out 1 image that doesn't show for unregistered but shows for logged in it'll help me troubleshoot. Otherwise I'm hunting in the dark

Yeah, I was thinking about adding an option in the next version for that.

Let me know when you are around and I will re-enable for unregistered.

I'm on and off randomly during the weekend as the family allows. If you can't give me an image and need me to see I guess we can take a look at it Monday sometime.

Just noticed import also did not set "depth" correctly for all main categories. Had to edit database directly to be able to view all sub-categories because 2 of 3 main categories had "depth" incorrectly set at "0".

Also on the homepage the category block (list) is correctly sorting by "sort_order", but the displayed categories are sorting by "catid".
