What combination of products do I need to..

I know what I want to do, but I'm not too sure on the combination of products I need to do it. I think it might be some kind of instersection between Awards, Shop, and Credits.

-- I want to be able to sell - as microtransactions - small icons which display on a user's postbit, profile, and in the memberlist, which show their fandom of a particular game. So they pay a buck and get a little "D&D" icon.
-- I also want to be able to award icons for free in my admin capacity.
-- I like the idea of users creating shops and selling icons to each other (but not me having to manually set each user up to do that)

So -- what do I need? I'm guessing vbShop for purchasing the items; vBcredits for purchasing the credits; probably not Awards? I'm not really interested in all the other functionality of the shop; I just want to sell the icons.

Acitivty and Awards provides points and awards based on individual user activity - e.g posting, thread making, time on forums.

The functionality you need will require both a dedicated Credits mod, vBCredits, and a dedicated Shop mod, vBShop. However, currently the ability to sell icons that display in the aforementioned area does not exist. You would need to make a feature request or request custom work for that functionality.

Huh. I could have sworn I saw purchasable icons in the postbit at one point. I guess I must have gotten it mixed up with something else. Ah well; the search continues!

So vBcredits is (I believe) the only points mod which allows users to simply buy points. So that makes vBCredits a definite.

As far as I can see, vBPlaza (free from vbulletin.org) allows for the buying of "ribbons"which display in the postbit etc.

So the question is -- is vBCredits compatible with vBPLaza? i.e. can credits purchased with vBcredits be spent in vbplaza?

Or, another approach to the same thing -- is it possible to buy awards in vBActivty/Awards with points from vBCredits?

I'm finding it frustrating that all the pieces of the jigsaw are there, just not in the configuration I need! Surely microbadge/icon purchasing via microtransactions is a common thing?

vBShop allows you to purchase icons for display in the postbit, but not in the profile and memberlist as far as I know - Fillip H. will comfirm - you might want to make a feature request thread to get those locations added to vBShop though.

We can't guarantee compatibility with 3rd party mods (e.g vBPlaza) unfortunately.

Oh! So it looks like vBShop can already do 95% of what I need out of the box? That changes everything! I can probably live without the memberlist part (it would be nice but not vital).
