Currently we use Ratepoint to handle our weekly newsletter to site members, which has been successful for us in keeping traffic up and in bringing people back to the site who have lapsed.

We will be switching to vBmail as soon as it is Gold - because as I've said on that thread - its a no brainer.

The one thing we will miss from Ratepoint is the ability to do surveys though. We use survey's regularly to poll our customers on a variety of points as we work on improving our site and also for exit surveys. If someone cancels a subscription with us we have a special survey for that event we send out to gather information on why.

I'd like to suggest that DB make a mod for doing surveys - I can't imagine we're the only company that could make great use of such a mod and having it integreated with vBulletin would be brilliant.

Couldn't you create a survey using vBQuiz and then link to that? I'd guess you'd probably need more reporting features than currently in vBQuiz, but, maybe getting vbQuiz to update might be the direction to go on this request.

I'm with Trekkan on this one, it sounds more like something vBQuiz could grow to encompass rather than an extension to vBMail.

That being said it also has some potential as a small standalone mod, i'll make a note of it and see if an opportunity presents itself for one of those options in future =)

The big difference we are looking for here is that the survey is e-mailed to the member list. vBQuiz and other mods we've looked at require them to come to the forums or be on the forums. We want to get their feedback from an e-mail - as well as having detailed response break downs - which is why it seemed it might tie into vBMail.

We have had lapsed members return, gained information from exit surveys on those who have left, and in general improved our site and business by putting this into their mail box - so that is the main difference in what we're looking for.

One of the benefits of having so many mods under our umbrella is that we can integrate them with each other relatively easily ^.^
