After upgrading vBshout on our forum, we've now got the version which has the little green "Activity Status" light next to the "shout" bottom on the bottom-left corner of the box. vBShout used to show a user as active if they were PM'd, quoted in a thread, mentioned (DBT Adv. User Tagging), etc.

With the new version (6.2.0) that no longer happens. From my understanding this is intended.

However, with the new version that has the "Activity Status" light, switching to a new shoutbox tabs marks a user as active there, even if they do not post a shout. This, I suppose, leaves me with two questions:

Can I prevent this from happening? It's annoying when users 'peek in' on a shoutbox tab to see what's going on there, don't actually join the conversation, and still show up as if they were talking. I filed this as a bug because I assume that was not intended, but if it was, can I disable it so "Active Users" are only those who are actually active?

If not, is there a way for a user to switch their own activity status to "Offline", or something similar, even if they are active? I tried setting myself to invisible with vBulletin's "invisible mode", which did nothing to solve this issue.

I apologize if I filed this incorrectly... it's kind of a mix of a possible bug and a suggestion together. If it matters, the site is running the pro version of the addon. Thanks.

Neither of those things are currently possible, sorry. The behaviour you report is entirely intended, as is the change you mentioned in the start of your post (it's actually the main feature in v6.2.0).
