Question Create/Start discussion - Also needs to be on the root page

Title says most of what I'm talking about. For the root of every group you should see the Start discussion at the top right, Having people hit discussions to see Start discussion is confusing to a lot of people.

How is it confusing that users must enter the discussion area to start discussions? Are your users also confused about the fact that there isn't an "Upload media" button on your forum home?

The problem with just adding a "Start discussion" button is that I'll also need to build a section selector similar to the forum selector when you press "Post thread" in the node list. I'll leave this open for now while I check how much work that'll be.

I mean, I feel like that comment was uncalled for. It's just not user friendly and it's a lot of clicking and it's confusing and people are having trouble starting a discussion. I feel like having it right there in a open would help with engagement.

I apologise, I was baffled at the notion that anyone would find it confusing, and I didn’t express that in a constructive way.

I will keep this ticket open until I can create the aforementioned solution that would enable a Start discussion button from the Overview page.

Thank you for suggesting this feature, it has now been implemented. We are aiming to include any changes that have been made in a future release (2.2.3).

I mean I get where you're coming from. It's just a lot of my users only know facebook. So Forums are all new to them.

Perfect, Ok Let me ask you this, I went and changed the name to just groups. When I go to install the update will that revert it?

No, phrases won’t revert on updates. If a phrase changes, you’ll see a notice in the AdminCP about outdated phrases.

2.2.3 has not been released yet as there are outstanding issues with the [OzzModz] Social Groups importer that's blocking the release.
