DBSEO Case studies ? Any for a read ?

Im interested to see some case studies if possible of owners who are willing to share some data in regards to improvements either in performance , indexing or traffic increases or indeed if anyone has endured looses of traffic , page views etc.

Im keen on trying it but i cant see my self switching from vbseo unless i can see some physical statistics from high traffic sites which have shown a positive response or retained its normality, no point in outlining improvements on sites that didnt have vbseo previous or has little to no traffic as its not really the same ball park for comparison.

I understand BDtech may not be able to provide these stats them selves but if someone is happy or not happy with the product and would like to back that up to help someone else potentially purchase the add-on it would be much appreciated.

I should also note that our server is optimised, vbseo is not a problem in terms of performance for us and its been served very well however i do like to have products installed which are supported, having said that i wont sacrifice our traffic to "test the water" with a new product either so hence the reason for information gathering before making any decision.

Thanks for any contributors, please refrain from saying how good/bad the product is without some comparison on what it was like before with vbseo and now with dbseo just so we can keep this as factual as possible with out opinions or bia's creeping

Might be a bit early for any in-depth case studies as the product is still in beta, but I believe both neounix and Mental have switched from vBSEO to DBSEO on large sites, and might be able to give some feedback.

For me, the initial transfer from VBSEO to DBSEO has been positive. Whilst some features are not existing (like hiding of features for guests) what it does is there and the URL importer worked flawlessly. Taking into consideration that the software is new and is being worked on constantly, I can recommend it. As for performance, there has been no increased load when using DBSEO so for those paranoid fear not, it runs fine.

Thanks Mental , How long have you had it installed ? If its been over a month is there any signs of Anaytics showing any changes in comparison to previous months ? In terms of search traffic ? any issues indicated in webmaster tools ? Obviously no change or positive changes are what im looking for.

I've had it installed just over a week so far and not really noticed much change in terms of analytics.

It's too early for performance studies and case-studies for DBSEO, in my view.

What is more important is for vBulletin users to support the good coding and development efforts by the Dragon Byte team for this product and by using the product on a daily basis, reporting bugs and making suggestions for improvement.

The stronger and bigger the community of users, the better the product and the performance will be.

We are thankful that Dragon Byte is supporting SEO for vBulletin and are pleased to be an early adopter of DBSEO. Overall, our initial impressions are favorable and the overall support from DB has been excellent. The product is still in beta, so there are still small bugs to work out; but that is true for any software released; and the more users who buy it and install it; the better it is for everyone.

We primarily use the URL rewriting functionality and the sitemap functionality. We have our own working code for dynamic meta keywords and meta description; and someday well will compare DBSEO's dynamic meta data generation features with our custom code.

As far as the sitemap generator, we have modified it a bit so we can use multiple sitemaps and multiple sitemap directories, because do things a bit differently than DBSEO as far as sitemaps; but we are using the basic DBSEO sitemap code with some slight modification.

My thoughts are that we will gradually see an increase in search engine referrals as we recover from the loss of traffic caused by "the end" of VBSEO; and all the 301 referrals we required. Google readily says that 301s from external links will hurt SEO a bit; and we agree because we saw that the 301s in place in between the time VBSEO died and DBSEO was ready caused our SEO and search referrals to drop.

Now that we have DBSEO, we do not have to 301 all the old external links to our site because we use the same URL structure as before; so this will certainly have a positive effect on SEO in the mid term. So, I recommend you buy DBSEO if your are 301' ing your old VBSEO URLs to the forum default URL structure, if only to preserve your backlinks to your site without 301s, which does hurt SEO, without a doubt.
