Question Distributor payments

Hi again,

I have a question regarding how distributors work. To my understanding, a distributor may generate license keys and assign them to any user, according to how many licences for a particular product have been assigned in the admincp.

For this to be a feesible system in my site (once it goes live), I need resellers to be able to buy license keys in bulk, at a pre-determined discount rate, then assign them to users as the current system already permits.

Is there a way to make this work that I am missing, or can you think of a solution? The problem is our distros are busy people, and having to manually invoice and assign keys is going to slow them down, cause friction, and really just be a nuiscance and create a bottleneck.

Buying the right to generate X amount of licenses is something you would need to handle manually, including payment.

The distributor system was added because DBTech used to have such negotiated deals, and this is the first time I’m hearing someone else actually making use of it

Yeah, as I mentioned the manual aspect of the system won't really be suitable for my needs unfortunately. Is there any way to get the changes implemented that would fasilitate what I want? Thanks

It would be possible, but I am currently working on another big feature (Classifieds/Marketplace) - and no, I don’t have an ETA before you ask - which is taking up all my time and resources just now.

Haha, ok fair enough. Is it possible to make an add-on to specifically alter the behaviour of another add-on? If so, I might try doing the necessary work myself.
