as per your advise on that thread I'm writing here all the feature requests & suggestions

1.

Category Display Order

In the manage category section. we need a "Display Order". Since i have many categories i need to be able to put them according to a certain order (based on importance).

also something that i just notice. its best if in the Category manager you get Main Categories then their children below them. just like in "Forum Manager" where everything goes in a organized and tied form. I love it if it looked like that. also the drop down menu should be affected

2. Option to count the downloads from link ... as of now it only count the downloaded files but some users adding links for the big files.

Number of files in a Category

This is something that i think is necessary, i want thinking if you could add a number of files in a category, so people would know how many files is in there. and maybe, an option to see the latest upload to that category.

this is what I mean, in the Main page, it should only show a total number like (25) under the description above the "sub-categories". but when you go into "subcategories" there is a place where there is "category name" and "category description". now 2 more things should be added there. "number of files in this category" and "lastest file uploaded". practically i mean 2 more columns.

Thanks alot. i really hope this gets considered cause i think is a very important issue. not essential, but important. to keep things more organized and under control.

- Better thumbnails (appearance, and ability to upload via click button below the placeholder image)

- Post to thread should have a delay. As of right now, as soon as you start the upload process the thread is posted to announce it, some users may try to download right away and would get an error if the upload had not completed yet.

- Forum block and CMS widgets to show latest files, Top Uploaders.

- Show "comments" column in the category view.

- Show Description always and have the comments below instead of the current tabs system which hides the comments.

- Admins have the ability to edit all fields of the upload, like author, comments/author. (make it much easier for administering this area)

- "Select Files" needs to be a image/button to attract attention, right now it's almost hidden away.

How long we should wait ?!
It's more than 1 year now since we start asking for those basic features !

The suggestions were only posted here on DBTech a little over a month ago (5th of October 2011) and our records show you only joined DBTech in 2011, so I think you may be mistaken with your timeframe.

vBDownloads was updated a few months ago with many new features. Unfortunately it is impossible for us to put every feature ever person requests into the updates.

All features suggested here on DBTech are examined when designing a new version of the software. There is no set schedule for the next major vBDownloads update as our schedules tend to be month by month. All i can tell you from this is there will not be a major vBDownloads update before the end of the year, I am unable to let you know when the next one will be released however.

some members posted long time if you check the links you will know what I mean

we are not asking for major or new feature ! only basic features and it should be in your product from the beginning like the ( Category Display Order )

We always request people make requests here on DBTech as it's pretty much impossible to track them on vbulletin.org - if there are suggestions a year old it's not a surprise they were overlooked as there would be no practical way to find them without reading every single post - that's why we request they are posted here, where we can track them

The problem with your suggestion they are "basic features" is that what you may consider a basic or essential feature, someone else might think isn't important at all, and they would prefer we put in a different feature (which THEY see as basic or essential, but you don't care about).
