When I turn on the 'Forum Stats' option, the display shows 5 items (with a missing icon for the 5th item) - but I only have 4 buttons/options built and turned on.

I have cleared caches, run the maintenance options, rechecked settings - I cannot figure out why this 5th option is showing up?

The only other thing I've noticed is that I can't run one of the 'Maintenance' options in the admin cp menu, the 'Rebuild Statistics' feature. When I try to run it, I get the following database error:

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

If you manually inspect the dbtech_thanks_button table, does the "Like" button show up, or only "Likes"?

Can you explain what you mean by 'manually inspect the dbtech_thanks_button table'? I'm not sure what you are asking?

You need to access phpMyAdmin or another database management tool and review the entries in that database table.

I can poke around but I'm not sure I would know what I am looking at. I have good skills within vB admin functionality, but my cPanel and server knowledge is limited. This will be the last mod I purchase here brother (and I've purchased a lot) because the support response seems to be 'figure it out yourself'. I understand you have to draw a line and can't personally fix every issue that comes up post-purchase, but this seems to be an issue with the mod itself (imho), not a setup issue or site conflict. This one isn't worth the time to fix. I just won't use that feature.

This is not an issue that anyone else has reported before, so I don't see how this can be a bug in the mod itself - something may have gone wrong when deleting the original buttons and replacing them with the other buttons.

If you're not comfortable with accessing your database to check it yourself, on-site support is of course available. Pointing out where the customer can go to debug the issue is always the first step, not the last step.

If you PM me with an FTP and AdminCP account, I can look into this as soon as I can.

I'm not sure I understand how "can you check for me if a ghost entry exists in this database table" translates into "figure it out yourself"?

If you had came back and said "yes, there's an entry in that database table that doesn't show up in the Button Management interface" I could have given instructions for how to delete it and thus restore functionality to your forum.

If you had said "no, there's no extra entry there" I would have also asked for FTP and AdminCP information in order to diagnose the issue further.

It is unfortunately true that it is not feasible for me to immediately request FTP and AdminCP access whenever someone posts any form of support query, for two reasons; a) not all administrators are comfortable giving me this access, and b) there's not enough hours in the day for that.

I'm sorry if asking for the information from you makes you feel like you're not receiving adequate support, it is not my intention to come off as brushing you off. It saves both myself and you time, not to mention security concerns, if the issue can be resolved without having to wait for the creation of FTP/AdminCP details. That is the only reason why I asked you for more information before requesting FTP/AdminCP details.

It's fine Fillip H.. I've had quite a few issues with the Newsletter, Post Thanks, and Gallery mods all purchased in the past 2 months. I'm sorry to express that publicly - I understand you can't address every site issue with every mod. I'm moving on and sorry for the irritable post.

Are you sure you don't want me to look into this issue for you? If you change your mind later, you can always re-open this thread or start a new one :)

I've no idea what in the world happened with your database or how you managed to create 3 ghost entries (likes, Like and Likes) but I have unified all button clicks under likes (all lower case) and it now appears to work correctly :)
