Question how important is url rewrite/friendly url for seo

hello,

i'm usng dragonbyte seo pro, but i will disable the url rewrite feature (learning from vbseo, it creates headache when someday i need to remove it)

my question is, how important is it to have a friendly url instead of default showthread.php?t=xxx url?

To be honest, it's not as important as it used to be. Today, it's more useful for the user (being able to see URL information in the status bar in the browser) than it is for search engines.

Search engines have become very good at resolving dynamic URLs, so I don't believe your rankings will suffer (beyond the initial hit you'll take as all your content needs to be re-indexed) in the long run.
