Hi David.

need your help on setting the setting. i created a folder out side of the public_html. but it still gives error. can you tell me how it goes ?

sorry again.
thanks

You can find out the location you need to use for your downloads folder using this file: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/vbdownloads.php?do=download&fileid=38

That will give you something like /home/user/public_html/ if you upload and run it from your public_html folder. Simply alter that to your downloads folder (must already be created) as such: /home/user/downloads/

Simply add this path to the "Path to Downloads" setting in your vBDownloads Manage Settings area.

Hope this helps :)

Thanx, it helped alot. now if you dont mind i have some more questions:

1. the image for category's, If i put an image from site main directory, will it work ? and about the size, it must be 100x100 or will it auto resize when showing ?

2. why the download tab is not showing up ? what am i doing wrong ?

1) Category images can be any kind of image you like. If you upload it to your web server, simply link to it and it will display. It will not auto-resize.

2) You probably haven't configured the modules. Click "Manage Modules" in the AdminCP and add each relevant usergroup to each module. You can find out what each module does here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/content/175-vBDownloads-Module-Information
The downloads tab is controlled by the "Global Module".

Hope this helps!

I believe you have vBDownloads set to point to downloads.php and it looks like you previously had DownloadII installed. You will need to upload the vbdownloads.php file and rename that to downloads.php in your FTP, removing the old downloads.php file.
