Legacy Meta Properties Including Opengraph Issues in CMS

All of my CMS articles have bad meta tags, which I believe were bad long before DBSEO came around.

I've done some checking and it appears what I'm seeing on my vb 4.2.0 is exactly the same issues as some other sites running 4.2.0. I have seen some sites on 4.2.2 that don't appear to be suffering from these issues but I could not find any release notes from 4.2.1-4.2.2 that specifically address this. So I'm not sure if they have a custom fix or whether a vb update fixed them.

These are the items that I'm seeing are incorrect for each CMS article:

• meta name "keywords" = default forum
• meta name "description" = default forum
• og:description = default forum
• og:url = default forum
• og:type = website

Can you confirm if vb has fixed this themselves and if not can this be something that DBSEO fixes, like it has fixed the thread properties.

When you say "default forum", do you mean the keywords that are defined in the vB AdminCP?

Yes. All CMS article meta tags are the ones you would see in the forum root as defined in the admincp.

There's currently no bits in the code that's meant to update the vBCMS meta tags, so I'll flag this as Under Consideration

It seems that the og:url for CMS articles is now correct . Was this something done in recent update?

Google is still flagging all the CMS articles for duplicate descriptions at this time.

I'm running VBulletin 4.2.1 and DBSEO 1.0.2, any my tags seem to be filled in.

So my OG and meta tags seem to be filled in. I know this doesn't help you directly, but it shows its working on some forums.

Thanks for the info. I guess we can nail it down to vB fixed this in the 4.21 update. I guess I should just stop holding off on the upgrade to 4.2.2, seems many of the issues that seem to pop up are issues that vB has gotten around to fixing.


Edit: Seems vB hasn't quite gotten around to using CMS article images as the og:image(s) though. Appears to still be the default forum image. This gets old for people on social networks that see the same image for every article you share from your site. Definitely not a DBSEO function, or issue - just a vB complaint, I guess we all have a few of those!

I held off on 4.2.2 update, and later saw it gave many forums problems. I'm still not too sure weather to take the plunge.
