Question PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded

Things were fine until today when my forum page went blank and was inaccesible.

Found this error:

PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in
/home/blooming/public_html/forum/dbtech/credits/credits_core.php on line 480

Disabled credits, and now things are fine.



I am running php v5.3.8 and I wonder if this is the issue discussed in the following thread that was fixed in the full version and not lite?

MySQL 5.1 painfully slow query on all pages

Do I need to get an update for this?

No. I didn't want to try something without knowing if it was the correct move. Are you suggesting I do this?

Yes, it can only improve things, even if its not what fixes your exact issue (it is a general error which does not immediately indicate a cause), but that other thread does fix one common type of slow page.

Thanks for the reply. I ran the query, re-enabled credits, and so far (fingers crossed) I'm seeing my forum instead of a blank white page.
