Hi,

I want to convert to your downloads program (pro version) from DownloadsII (Jelle) and I cannot import.

After step 2, I got this error:

"No Users Matched Your Query"

What did I do wrong?

Please help me so I can buy your PRO version after it is converted.

Thanks in advance.

Forgive my ignorance. I am not sure what you mean by "historical files". but some of the uploaded files in the library may have been uploaded by users no longer on the site- yes. Is that a problem? Do I need to delete those?

I made sure there were no non-existent users in the downloadsII database, and I still got:

I'm lost, HELP!!

I'm sorry to be a pest, I just really want to use this program. It has the features we need.

Thanks.

Please have more patience. You posted your first response at 6:43 AM, which is outside our normal support hours.

I have made some changes that may alleviate this issue. Please re-download the mod, re-upload the files and re-import the XML file. Let me know if this works for you.

The original error did not occur. It went through step 3, but afterwards, no downloads are showing up in the vbdownloads tab.

Can you please go into the AdminCP and double-check that the categories have the usergroup permissions for Can View and Can Download set?

Additionally, please try clicking Repair Cache in the AdminCP and let me know if that solves it :)

The categories and some of the files show, but it only found and imported about 1/2 of the files. The files are NOT duplicates or corrupt- I checked. I also removed the plugin and tried AGAIN, and AGAIN, only 1/2 were imported.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Done.

Clear cache did not work.

I uninstalled all the files and repeated 3 times- same result only 409/1650 files uploaded.

Just discovered installing this mod will also cause "Operation Timed Out" errors on other mods. I have uninstalled it. It needs work.

What was the full error, and which mods was it affecting? Without that info, it would be impossible to figure out what's going on.

It affected Community Newsletter by VBcover (not a great download I know, but it is the only one that is out now that works) and several Maintenance functions including Rebuild Post Cache and I believe rebuild search function.

It also STILL does not import ALL the download files from Downloads II.

Yesterday, I sent Fillip H. an Admin account and FTP password so it could be worked on, but due to the Time Out problem I had to delete the plugin so that I could run the site and send out a bulletin .

This mod does not interfere with any other mods in such a way in any way, shape or form. You will need to check your error_log file (usually found in /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log though it varies by system) for the real error message.

Let me know when you have reinstalled it so that I can test the import :)

Just finished maintenance. So I can reinstall it.

When I uninstalled it, I did NOT get that timeout error, so I think it was interfering with other functions.

Will update this when it is back.

I've made multiple changes to the importer (including adding support for converting the Display Order from Downloads II categories!) and from a rough comparison of the file statistics on your site, it's "lost" about 5 files.

Those files appear to no longer exist in the file system, as (before I suppressed the warnings) I was getting errors regarding files not being found in the source directory.

Could you please re-check to see if everything is to your satisfaction now? Thanks for your help in this, it's been invaluable :D

Hi,

I checked it out, and it appears good to me. I am going to open it to staff and they will report back problems.

A couple of improvements you might want to offer.

Instead of setting each category, which gets tedious when you have many, it would be helpful to have a model that all can be set to or a "work off category".

The empty image graphic is annoying. Can you make it allow you to NOT have any graphics where there aren't any so that we don't have to see the slash through the circle or at least disable graphics?

The other thing is the ability to upload/download a list of files at once instead of one at a time.

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by this.

You can change /dbtech/downloads/images/noimage.png to something else :)

Please do not simply delete it as that may cause unexpected behaviour that is not supported. You can replace it with an 1x1 transparent PNG as an alternative.

"Download As Zip" is a Pro-only feature :)

A few more errors. In Navigation, even groups that have management permission cannot see manage categories and import files on the navigation submenu:

1. You have to set each category separately. Can't you make it so that they can all be set to a site default at once?

2. How about allowing users to download a GROUP or SEVERAL files at once or upload SEVERAL files at once?
