I didn't see a ticket area..I'm sorry if this is the wrong place.

I tried installing vbcredits pro over vblite and it would pause during installation and time out...This happened again when I tried installing the advanced thank hack pro...it would only go to alter admin table and just remain on the installing please wait screen...I tried uninstalling and installing other products and it works fine. I also tried uninstalling credits lite and i still received the error. Happens with both credits and advanced thank u both are pro versions

Thanks in advance for help.

I'll see if Fillip H. can weigh in on the thanks addon.

How long did you wait before giving up? The safest to wait is around 5 minutes.
If your server/connection seems to be experiencing a slowdown, probably best to try it again when your site is loading quickly for you.

was there ever any actual errors shown for either addon during either process? If so, can you paste them here

I tried again last night when I got home...I turned my board off then tried to install with that server load...Still nothing. No errors at all...Just hangs at the processing screen. I installing vbshop pro just fine. Its just these two addons giving me issues. I also tried turning the hooks off via config php while I installed...still nothing. Thanks

Just for testing I installed the latest lite version of credits...It installed perfectly. I'm about to try the same thing with the advanced thanks.

Let me know what you find. For vbcredits anyway, the stuff performed during installation on lite is virtually identical to the pro verison...

I tried uninstalling the lite and installing fresh..I tried installing over the lite...with the forum off and on..with the config.php turned off. Everything gives me the same result. I'm installing the exact same way with both the lite and the pro versions with the same programs. I also tried a few different browsers.

Can you PM me an admin login and FTP info? I can try it myself and debug it to see if/where it actually bottlenecks.

I got pro installed for you, it was a post table update in the installer. Because you have like over 2 million posts, that command was taking awhile and your server gave up trying to wait for a response from it. I skipped over that for you, since it wasnt needed for you personally anyway. Nothing to really fix, as its difficult to figure out a point at which something would take too long to make optional :-/

Thanks so much...Do u know what i may need to change on my server? I also have this same issue installing a couple other thinggs including advance thanks pro

Unfortunately there's no way to speed up installing something that alters the post table :(

Ok...I understand that. But its not installling..I left it there and went to work so it sat for about 8 hours and nothing changed. The browser was stagnant. If DW is saying my server is not responding after a certain amount of time that could be the issue right?

I don't know, you'd best ask your host - I sadly have little experience with very large MySQL databases :(

If you look at the icon on your browser [tab], it will stop spinning once the page has given up. Your browser and PHP itself will only wait for so long before it gives up, but this amount of time varies with the individual browsers and servers, and isn't something that can be included the code that runs on all servers (ie our installer code).

When your database tries to alter the post table, the way mysql does it is by create a temporary table with the new specifications, and copying the old table's data onto the new one, and deleting the old table. When you have as many posts as yourself, you can see why it takes so long.

Again, this is something which doesnt come up for 99.99% of our users (you are our first! congrats!) so it is not a high priority to "fix"; but instead can help you like we did here - at least we know the problem right away

Thanks and I understand completely. I just paid to have it installed professionally. Thanks for your help.
