Sitewide Branding Free - Monthly Option

Curious why you guys don't have a monthly option for the sitewide branding free license. ...I for one would love such an option.

My number one complaint about dragonbyte-tech is how disgusting thie modifications makes the footer of my site look, and how expensive the branding free option is. We don't agree with stealing the software, or modifying your code without authorization. We are a fairly large community, and we have a fairly active donator base for our bills, however we do have bills and they are expensive and paid for via donations. Coming up with $500 "simply" to remove the branding on products we have already actually "paid" for seems unfair.

I understand and agree with branding being on the 'lite' versions, however when we do pay for the product, it seems like double dipping.

My suggestion is to have a monthly option to remove all products branding with two alternate pay structures. One for lite users, one for premium users.

Structure 1 - Lite version of mod

500/18 months is $27/month -- Charge $30/mo for lite version. After 16.5 months you guys are continuing to make profit, whereas your current system you do not.

Structure 2 - Premium version of mod
Then, give premium users 50 off monthly option, or lease-to-own at regular pricing. This keeps them happy, you make even more profit after 2 years. If they choose lease-to-own your providing a great service for administrators that don't have the cash upfront. If they purchased the premium mod, more than likely they will be sticking with it, and a happy customer is always a return customer. Plus, a majority of sites running DB software will in turn look better, which in turn will cause more administrators to want to utilize the software. Remember you are advertising to the site administrators, not the users.

Thinking further outside of the box, you could also have a 'navbar tab' branding option vs the footer option, where instead of the footer your software adds a 'modifications' tab to the footer-navbar which would contain all the software branding information on 1 page.

This is just a suggestion from a longtime customer who keeps coming back here time and time again to get rid of ugly ass branding on our site, but everytime is turned away by the high price. A manageable monthly fee would be far more achievable than nothing.

I'll let Cosmic answer the bulk of your post, but I would like to draw your attention towards the Copyright Management modification we have available.

By changing the options, you're able to make it so that it only displays a single copyright line with a link to the main site and a "Details" link which lists all modifications you've installed on your site.

Hey Adam, thanks for the feedback, i'll take it into consideration the next time we look at our pricing structure. Some of your ideas are very thought provoking.

Regarding the double dipping feeling, if we were to supply the pro version without branding our prices would have to be roughly double what they are now. There's a good reason none of the other mod companies offering branding free pro versions for the same price are still in business. The margins are extremely tight in mod development and companies such as ours rely on the promotion effect of copyright links to help drive business.

As Fillip pointed out above, we do offer a completely free copyright management mod for people who are running several products to ensure the footer doesn't get too messy. If we could do a better job of letting people know that exists/how to get it, let me know and we'll do what we can to advertise that.
