Social group titles with a dash do not load.

Another small thing that was reported to me. I copied over the settings from vBSEO and this was not a problem before.

One of my members has a social group called "OLD-SCHOOL DIECAST COLLECTORS".

When my rewrite setting is set to "groups/[group_name].html" it won't load the group, it reloads the main social groups page.

When I change the rewrite to "groups/[group_id]-[group_name].html" it works.

It must be an issue with the title having a dash in it.

I made a change to /dbtech/dbseo/includes/library/socialgroup.php - there was a PHP error that must be hidden by your server's settings as the group loads fine for me.

Can you try re-uploading that file?

I had changed the setting to include the group ID so the member could access it, that's why you could get to it! I'll download/upload that now!

I wanted to also point out that I use special characters for some of my forums titles such as Lionel NASCAR® Collectibles. The ® is not getting ignored now and is coming up as a (%AE) in the link... Lionel NASCAR® Collectibles - Diecast CraZy

I can always remove the special character but it's something that worked before so I thought I'd mention it.

I tested it on my local test forum, not your site :)

I'm not sure what you mean by "worked before" - can you show me an example of how the link looked before?

What's the value of the Filter Non-Latin Characters setting?

Please also try flushing the cache after uploading the file.

I see that the "Keep Non-Latin Characters" setting fixes my second issue.

The social group still doesn't work with that dash.

Could you please create and PM me with a temporary FTP and AdminCP account?

For security reasons, we recommend you create a new FTP account only for DBTech support, then disable or delete it after we have both confirmed the issue has been solved and there are no further issues.

The same applies to AdminCP accounts; they should ideally be temporary accounts created for us only. If we have created an account on your site already, you can optionally boost that account to Administrator and then de-admin this account once the issue has been solved.

If you use a .htaccess password protection for your AdminCP directory, it is recommended that you create a new authorised user for DBTech and remove this user once the issue has been solved.

Please test any temporary accounts you create to ensure that the FTP account has access to the forum files, and that the AdminCP account can access the administrative controls for the product we are assisting you with.

Ensuring this is all in order before submitting the information will significantly speed up the process of assisting you. We will alert you via PM if there's any issues with the login information you have provided.

When sending the PM, for your security you should also un-tick the "Save a copy in my Sent Items folder" checkbox. When the access details have been received, we will delete the PM from our inbox. Ensuring you have not kept a copy of the PM reduces the risk of security breaches.

Thank you for helping us debug our products and allowing us to assist you, we appreciate it :D

Update: I believe this is actually a bug with MariaDB's implementation of REGEXP.

I have tested the exact same group name with the official MySQL binaries and MariaDB on this server as well as on yours (we also run MariaDB). The exact same query works on the official MySQL binaries, but not on MariaDB.

For that reason I can only conclude that this is a bug in MariaDB and we will be unable to resolve it.

Please update all your URL formats and ensure that all URL formats include the "id" variable.

For the inline images issue, for example on forum Diecast 101...the image to the left of the forum title in the navbits when not using DBSEO is linked to

When using DBSEO it tries to link it to

http://diecastcrazy.com/community/iconimages/diecast-101_ltr.gif breaking the image.

Ok, I fixed this by turning off "Rewrite "Nav Bullet" URLs"

Update: This has now been fixed on your site, thanks :)

To ensure each issue has its own thread, I'm closing this :)
