vBShoutbox overloading the server

I had to go through some updates these days, with vB4.1 and vBSEO 3.5.2! So for some days i was wunning my forums wihout vbshout pro and things were running all good and speedy (server actually seemed to be very relaxed )!
Today i installed once again vbshout pro and site performance is all the way down!
I would not say that it is vbseos or vbshouts problem!
The thing is that if i have to choose between the 2 of them, i am gonna stick with SEO!

It is a major and known perfmormance issue for some time know (some months actually) and the update was supposed to come at the end of the year which is these days!
Please make an effort on this, it is really important, i know you wont be getting any major money from a vbshout update but it is very important for all of us using the product!

Discussed this with Fillip H., best solution is to migrate the ajax functionality to vbshout.php rather than hook into ajax.php - that way exclusions will work from vBSEO. It'll be implemented in the next release I believe.

Any updates on moving the ajax functionality to the vbshout.php file? I also use VBSEO and would like to be able to truly exclude vbshout.php from it.

Thanks Cosmic, users love the shout box, but I have seen server load double.. so this will be an anticipated modification for me.

I had mgc chatbox for years, until I upgraded to 4.1PL2 and ever since it crashed/locked up on many users. I looked around and decided on your chat, a paid and supported module, and it is working well.

Don't forget VBShout and give us that update

just curious if there is any update on this issue since it has been waiting to be updated since September 30th? i paid for a lifetime subscription for this shoutbox but unfortunately never got much use out of it like many others who run VBSEO. thanks!

There hasn't been an update to vBShout yet, unfortunately. Please understand that since this is not an issue caused by our mod, and it's a pretty major rewrite just to fix someone else's bugs, it wouldn't be fair to our other customers to neglect mods that are in need of updates (like vBShop) in order to fix this posthaste.
